They have called me the Dreamcrusher in reference to my fondness for reality checks(their asperations to be,

say, the next Bill Gates or an oil oligarch being too dreamy for fruition).
In this sample, the parentheses is used to enclose. It further explains the kinds of the student's dreams

which were believed unreasonable by the writer.

Here is my sentence using the parentheses.
You need to pay the registration fee (the total is $65) if you want to register a copyright of your published

work.
In this sentence, the parentheses is used to explain the extra information what I want to tell the readers.

Suzie, I think you've put in extra spacing accidentally. Try not hitting the "enter" key when typing in Word.

Your example is a good use of parentheses. Be specific, however. Your "extra information" should say "the cost for registration" instead.

There are two example sentences using the parentheses (they are excerpted from The Record)
“The school board, the city and the ministry (of education) need to take responsibility for the bodies buried on this site,” said on Kelvin protester who spoke during the visitors section of the board of education meeting on Feb.24.
In this sample, the parentheses are used to enclose. “Of education” explains more the city and ministry belong to the education.
One of the report’s recommendations is that child-care operations of up 16 spaces (principal use of building) or 12 spaces (as an accessory use) be permitted as an outright use in all residential zones.
In this sample, the parentheses are used to enclose also. “Principal use of building” explains more the 16 spaces, and “As an accessory use” explains more the 12 spaces.
My sample is the following:
Marie Curie is first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, first person to win Nobel Prizes in two different scientific disciplines 1903 (Physics) and 1911 (Chemistry).

Note: don’t use the capital letter in the parentheses sentence.
