Passion

I wish to fly higher than heartsick clouds
To get to a place and give life to my unborn dreams
A fly toward a fanciful image of life
To get to a silence and change love and fate

I would fly with a cheer and joy like an angle
To join with flowers and dance with butterflies
A desire to attach with the stars and the moon
Get closer and vie with the sky

I wish to fly higher and higher to a place with no din
To couple with my dreams and live thither forever

Mother’s Heart

Looking out through the window,
Her heart beating like a funeral drum –
A grey shawl wrapped the sky.

Dazzling sky, crying deeply,
Like a mourning mother for her son,
Lost in a battle –
Hanging on the chair’s handle,
Closed her eyes, waiting for, maybe,
Sky will turned around with sympathy.

A door opened on the edge of darkness,
Twinkling with a cadmium yellow light,
Breezing a dancing freshness,
Into her lonely existence –
Azure sky hugged her like a mother.

Dream Back Stanley Park

See the sky like an eagle soaring high,
Feel the roads in the way of deer,
Swim in waters like a duck,
Join the sails scattering along the coasts.

See birds swooping up and down,
Feel wind caressing hairs,
Chase flying fishes,
Join clouds wandering and searching.

Listen, the songs of clouds,
Smell, the fragrance of roses,
Hear, the whisper of trees,
Croon, your songs for birds.

Let this land hold you as lungs hold breath,
Let this land feel you as mothers feel babies,
Let this land hear you as heart hear blood,
This land will be in your dreams forever.

The First Party

A precious day, in a surprise way,
My daughter gave me,
With her birthday party.

The first time,
In her seven-years life,
My sheepish girl,
Ask a party.
What a surprise, that has been expected quite.

Nervous, sending invitations,
Nervous, making decorations,
Nervous…
The little brain,
Is full of excitement and
Panic.

The warm light of candles was wavering,
The cake was sending out sweet smell,
The smiling faces were getting together,
The singing voice was filling the house
The happy girl was sighing secretly:
“So that’s how it is!
I see”.

I see,
A beautiful butterfly,
Is shyly getting out her cocoon, and
Is ready to fly.

Another Work Week....

Another work week continues,
And yet I feel so weak, how much longer?
I always ask myself, I find no answer
If I don't think about it,maybe I will be stronger.

The days off are sweet like honey and sugar
I wish it was my day off forever
I find satisfaction in my pay check

But then the day ends, and it's back to work
I would rather sleep and see my dreams
They live inside my head, and so do my aches
And yes again, the work week continues.

DETERMINATION

Along the winding road of learning,
I stumble, stop from the heavy storm.
I cried, and cried like a motherless baby.
Fear engulfs my empty heart.

I chose to get up and brisk walk instead of running.
But, I fall again.
I see, a scarcity of knowledge pushes me to try again,
And once more I fell into the deep, dark waterless well.

I am coward and scared to move on.
Criticisms are hurtful feelings, but it is constructive and essential.
Some say, “Your difficulty in language lowered your score”.
I feel discouraged, disappointed and thought of quitting many times.
But, instead, I embraced my limitations.
And I exerted my effort to do harder and aim higher.

Maybe, I am slow, but, taking it seriously is what matter.
Never give up and take one step at a time is what I do.
Again, I will stumble, wobble, and stop, but, I chose to be persistent.
Surely, I stand up and move on, but, stronger to face the journey in life.
Yes, I am determined, and each day, my hope shines!

Poetry lover

She loves reading and writing poetry,
Sad poetry, friendship poetry, or love poetry,
Those anthologies and a pile of notebooks can prove.

She reads, pondering over the theme of it,
enjoying the moving phrases it gives,
tasting the joys of the poetry.

She writes, anywhere, anytime,
Could be a sad one after an unhappy film,
Could be a romantic one before a sweet date,
Could be a funny one following a good joke.

Bright sunset of Grouse Mt. Nov. 26, 2008
39820 Kenny Lee
Years ago I have seen very beautiful sunset from the Vancouver.

To enjoy such scenery I am climbing Grouse Mt. often.

Climbing the mountain is always painful for me.

But the biggest enjoyment is to seeing a beautiful sunset.

Beneath my eye there is mountain which covered evergreen forest.

Sun gave me strong yellow light through the surface of sea.

Far away there is Vancouver Island instead the sea line.

The sun going down to the horizon make maximum bright sunlight at the west.

At the beginning, distant looking island are changing to dark.

As the sun touched the island, we can see the Sun as round.

It is sinking rapidly beyond horizon and faded away.

The bright yellow stride is disappered but the sky is blue yet.
.

The color of sea is changing to blue and to dark blue now.

Some clouds reflect sun’ light after sunset for a while.

The surface of the sea changed to dark.

But the heaven remain blue yet..

Thousand light of Vancouver are twinkled as scattered jewels.

Lion Bridge is seen clearly by the light of crossing cars in the darkness.

Twinkling came to me more clearly as sky became dark and dark.

Beautiful sunset is changed to beautiful night view already.

A Ladder

When climbing a ladder to a rooftop
My longings are to stand on the rooftop
So higher and higher, I climb, inching, to prevent a slip
Grasping, when a step is missed

Stopping when tired, but cannot sit
When half way I feel like a man whose wife has survived breast cancer
Then the last step of the ladder to get on the rooftop is broken
Try hopping but the ladder losses balance and falls backward on top of me

My feelings are now like a man whose wife has died just after giving birth,
But I do not give up-- that’s my life-- like climbing a ladder

The Life of Salmon

They come from the ocean,
But now they feel they should go back to their birth place,
They keep swimming, swimming and swimming,
Just like they swam to the ocean several years ago.

But the return trip is not so easy,
They go against the stream,
They swim hundreds kilometers to cross the mountain though they don’t eat anything,
They hurt when they jump over reef,
They just keep going and won’t stop until they reach their destination.

Do they know that their destination means the end of life to them?
Yes, they know, but they won’t feel regret,
They like a brave army,
They just want to finish their task regardless,
That’s the short but splendid life of salmon.

girls Socer Team

Late autumn, green happy grass, dry sad leaves.
I shivered in the freezing breeze.
Girls soccer team, blue and white.

Run Run Run, lightness as a young deer, the passion of little 5 years old.
Short pants, short T-shirt and white socks.
Full energy of Sun.

“Nice shot” Grandfather, Grandmother, Dad and Mom cheered.
“Emily go!”, “Jennifer go” Guess which team will win.
Sound of Cheers like the moving wave.
Let’s have a party under sky!
