Scene 3, question #1.

Tom experiences shock every time when he has a conversation with his mother. She never took what she did not need. She never asked Tom about his plans. She always has her own ideas how to built things making the most ideal situation for her. She wants a stable home life for her and she felt that only Tom can provide it for her. She gives up her wants to provide for Tom. There is a huge gap between Amanda and Tom. Amanda has control over the situation, but has no control at all over what is happening inside Tom.

Scene 2, question #3.

The two symbols, the glass menagerie and the blue roses, are extremely relevant, vivid, and powerful: they symbolize the fragility and the struggle of Laura. Tennessee Williams creates the glass menagerie as just such a spiritual paradise of Laura. While enjoying her collections, she siezes on a chance of escaping the reality. However, what Laura seems to enjoy more than anything else is to be alone. The glass menagerie is pretty and shiny but fragile, so do the real life. Life is beautiful yet full of contests and tragedy. In addition, the rare blue roses represent Laura: innocent, sweet, and sensitive. Therefore, her fodnness of solitude is the most important charateristic of this play, and the power comes chiefly from its symbols, both emotions and moral.

Jim is a realistic person than any other characters in this play, because he can look dispassionately at the realities. Maybe it is not easy for him to accept his present miserable situation compare to his high school’s fame, but he accepts his situation and prepares for his future step by step. He takes a radio engineering and public speaking course for future. He makes his own future plan and tries to accomplish the goal. He is very realistic. On the contrary, Tom doesn’t make any effort to improve his present situation. He just complains and thinks of running away from his family and reality to adventure the new world. He seems to think life is a magic show that he sees at a theatre. It means if he runs away to any other place, he thinks he can come true his dreams. However, there is nothing to come true his dream without any efforts. I think he doesn’t know that as his father. It is why he is not realistic than Jim.

The feedback on the answer for Scene 6, Question 4.

I agree with Kaise's point of view to some extent even though I don't think Amanda who is honest in Scene 6. It is true that Amanda "seems to be trying to win over Jim for Laura, but" she doesn't do "it the right way." Kaisa gives two reasons to support her comment. The one is Amanda who is too enjoyed talking her past life to Jim instead of Laura. The other one is Amanda who is trying to make Laura look good; oppositely, her own appearance surprises the caller even Tom. These reasons are very strong.Kaisa also uses effective quotation which Amanda says, "it's rare for a gril as sweet an pretty as Laura to be domesticated!" to support her second reason.

I give feedback to Jie'paragraph of question one in scene seven. Our group find that Jie's topic sentence is clear because its thesis statement, "he hurts her even more than he has given her" relates to the question.

However, she doesn't support the thesis statement completely. Instead of criticism Jim's behavior directly, she commences to state more facts which have occured around Jim and Laura.

She uses the quotes effectively in the sentences. "Jim's futher deeds are beyond friendship. He "kisses her on the lips and makes her "dazed look"." It is the strong quotes.

The last sentence seems not the conclusion because it only connects to the ahead sentence. One last thing is the grammar error in the first sentence. "At the scene 7 in "The Glass Menagerie", should be "In scene 7 of "The Glass Menagerie". This all we see.
