Here I Am

Love riding around “the horn” (UBC via Point Grey) on my hybrid bicycle, flying fast down Northwest Marine Drive to the Spanish Bank, stopping at Beyond Bread for fresh baguettes and coffee, following the seawall back to Main Street, the feeling you get when you return home tired from a 40 kilometer ride.

Loved my old-style racing frame, but now prefer livelier aluminum. Loved taking my kids for a ride on the back of my bike, but now they ride their own.

Look at life as a ride full of potholes and bumps; know that smooth roads are the exception.

HERE I AM

Love enjoying rain’s freshness on fall’s first day, smelling the first snow in winter (the second one’s too much), hoping and longing for spring’s first flower in our park, waiting for months for the first day of vacation, the feeling you get when time is not important anymore.

Loved spending summers by the seaside with my family, but now only my father is alive. Loved daydreaming about time-travel, but today I realized that only the present is important.

Looked at life as a spiral circle; know that life even though the same every day bring changes.

Love enjoying a cup of fresh coffee on the balcony, picking fresh tomatoes in the front yard (with a fear of spiders), reading a fascinating story in a park, walking along the Fraser River after a meal, the feeling that happy is an attitude and a well lived life is our goal.
Loved leaning on my parents’shoulders, but they becoming weaker while I am getting stronger. Loved travelling around the world, but I could not get a chance to accomplish the dream.
Look at life as a cup of rich tea; taste bitter for the first sip but feel multi-flavors when we went through a lot.

Love walking down the path beside trees, treading on the dried autumn leaves, listening to footsteps (with rustling sound) , looking at far mountains standing in front of me, the feeling you get when life is easy and simple.

Loved dinning with mom and dad on holidays or family union days, but it’s just too far to be back. Loved talking on the phone with friends all night long, but we are so busy with our families.

Look life as arrows, go directly to the end; we will never have any chance to live the same lives again.
