Here I Am
Love strolling wet streets hidden under a black umbrella, listening to Ruben Gonzalez (may he rest in peace) play Cuban-style piano, savouring roasted almonds fresh from the oven, watching the crows fly over my house at sunset, the feeling you get when strangers treat you with kindness.
Loved my eccentric Tibetan Terrier, but don’t miss scratches on the door at midnight. Loved hiking high alpine passes in Strathcona Park, but now prefer climbing Little Mountain to see the sun set over downtown Vancouver.
Look at life as more than meets the eye; know that much is hidden from our view.

Love drinking hot chocolate on a cold day, teaching myself how to knit a scarf, taking a walk with my mom in a mall (without buying anything), using my imagination when reading a fiction novel, listening to my cat meow when I talk to her, the feeling you get when winter has come.
Loved volunteering at New Vista care home, but I’m now busy with school. Loved going to the movie theatre every weekend, but it’s too expensive to go every week.
Look at life as a straight line; there is no left or right, so move forward.

Love drinking dark roasted tea during the sunrise of every morning, Listening to early birds singing with kids laughing (with no arguing in between) modern music through the radio, The vapor of steaming rice that feeds families, a noisy house that fills a gap in my heart, with more love you give the more you receive.
Loved watching soap operas by myself, but now I am occupied by different things. Loved dancing with my love one, but now other things has taken a bigger role.
Look at life as an inheritance; pass on experiences, and child always be our child.

Love hiding in a comfy couch near a fire place, reading fiction novel (my favorite writer Ummaira Ahmed), entertaining myself with roasted cashew, peanuts, and almonds, watching the kids outside throwing snowball on each other, the feeling you get when the kids follow your rules with honor and dignity.
Loved spending time on favorite serials, but now I am engaged with my kids. Loved going to the shopping with friends on weekends but now it seems too tiring.
Look at life as a hilly road; facing ups and downs, so be cautious while facing challenges.
Here I am
Love the beautiful excitement that’s heard from my son’s laugh, listening to his own strange words, cuddling with my family after a good meal, anticipating on the summer adventures and the many beach trips to come, the feeling you get when you know your life is on the right track.
Loved the time I use to have, for photography or art in general.
Loved biking and being more active, but I know soon I will do these things again.
Look at life like a mirror, when things change in your life so does your reflection.

Here I Am
Love having a hot ginger-honey every cold morning, sitting alone on the patio for hours (without any interruption), creating melodies on my acoustic guitar, driving through snowy evergreens on a sunny winter day, the feeling you get when your cute child says to you, “I love you, Dad.”
Loved hanging out just with my lovely wife, but now I have one little boy and another one in her womb. Loved chewing my favorite’s food, Martabak, an Indonesian pancake, but no one sells it in Vancouver.
Look at life as a journey; there are smooth highways, steep mountains and deep-dark valleys.

Love whistling a coffeemakers machine and sizzle in the pan fried early sunny Sunday
morning, slamming the front door when my wife comes home and greets me,
"Hello my darling", the native voices of my adult children on the phone (even though their
calls do not happen often).
Loved to listen to quiet my children sniff when they are asleep in their beds, but now they are
grown and live away from us. Loved cheerful noise of countless friends at a party, but now I
prefer silence.
Look at life as a brilliant symphony created by God , and every living creature in this
symphony takes its unique score.

Love watering tired green burnt under the hot sunny day, lying on a soft blanket under the cool shade of the oak tree, munching a Panini sandwich packed with shaved ham, amusing myself watch my little ones play and run on the green grass, the laughing I hear is a song of happiness.
Loved walking with my father, but he was too tall to reach when I was a little girl. Loved picking my mother’s grey hair to make her younger, but now I dye my hair to cover my age for my little ones,
Look at life as a stream flowing down into a river; there is no U-turn, but tons of todays we can love.
