I read two or three poems weekly and own more than 20 volumes of poetry. Often, poems speak more directly to my heart than stories do. I’ve written some good poems and encourage students by showing them good, modern poems and having them write one each term.

Funnily, I would say I never enjoyed English poetry until learning in Communication 12. I find its depth of brief, grace, and rhyme. It's like a play of conveying the whole in short. Although it's still hard for me, I really fancy for a try anytime, to read and write.

The number of English poems I’ve read is totally not more than 10. I would not like to actively read a poem. However, once I was driven to study them, I would chant aloud to enjoy their rhyme and rhythm; also I would quietly learn their conciseness and precision. The more times I read, the deeper my understanding is.

I never enjoyed reading poetry until I was in my Communications 12 class. Then I found that some poetry was enjoyable. Learning the meaning of a poem can sometimes be a challenge for me, but I had to pay attention to every word in order to figure out the message.

I never enjoyed poetry. I also have some kind of fear that I might have to write a poem during the semester. I studied four poems in Com 12; it was hard to analyze them, and didn`t get a good mark. However, I hope to find its value and understand more deeply. 52 words

My so far experience with English poetry is “ok.” I found that poems are like a “maze”, not easy to understand first time. Some peoms contains hidden meanings which is hard to follow for me. However, for me reading short peoms are more enjoyable than longer poems.

Poetry seems to far away my life. I only learn the poetry in the class. I don’t enjoy reading poetry, even writing poetry. The depth of meaning and various literary devices always puzzle me. Personally, poetry is like an abstract painting. I know its amazement, but I don’t understand its meaning.

I do not like poetry but I enjoyed it at Communications 12. I learned different kinds of poetry and my emotion is affected during reading it. Although it is difficult to understand the deep meaning of the poetry, I enjoyed its rhythm and the expression from the authors.

Poetry in literature is as impressionism in arts: it delivers feelings from the author to me directly on subconscious level. Poets use their poetry devices as artists use paints to transfer their own emotions to others. It makes a direct spiritual contact, a very close heart touch between two: the author and the reader, the artist and the admirer.
