This simple picture has a fabulous story - the story I want to share.

It happened in Williams Lake last year. The very busy construction season was about to be over brining back its natural quiet and please to this place.

Our project of reconstruction HWY 1 was completed and successfully accepted by the Client.
It was time to start relocation of our asphalt testing equipment. Usually, laboratory locates close to the asphalt plant in order to provide fast service, but this time it was located in a touch with beautiful forest and amazing surrounding.

After spending a couple of days, all the equipment was wrapped up and ready to go back to the main office in Burnaby. We had some extra time to walk around and enjoy the area (I was not at this project from the very beginning, and came only for a few days to help to complete).

Suddenly, I saw a professionally build, very cozy bird house. I was so surprised and asked my co-worker: “Who build it here in the middle of the forest?” He said: “Our manager!”

I probably looked even more surprised and he continued with a smile on his face: “It was so nice and quiet here before we started the project. We felt so guilty, and decided to make something to get a pass to be accepted by the land”

What would first come to your mind if someone asks you to describe people from road-construction field? …..making a bird house….?

I like Min`s picture the most. A church, surrounded by many tall modern buildings, has a beautiful antique outlook: it contrasts old and new. She had included two seagulls in the cloudy sky, benches along the road, and a jade pond in front of the church. These components along with the church make me relaxed somehow.

It was Hana who brought a humorous picture into the class. The monkeys are sitting on an asphalt road keeping certain spaces in between. I haven`t seem monkeys on the road. It was interesting we can share our own experiences with images. When I heard Hana`s explanation about the picture, I felt as if I was travelling in Africa.
