A Favourite Popular Song

Post a link to a favourite song (YouTube will have many available) before you come to class. After the link, briefly say why you like the song. Mention a lyric (words) that you prefer. Be sure to identify the performer or band by name.

NOTE: If you would like to share your final draft of the narrative essay with other students, please send a copy in Word format to Brad before class next Wednesday. I can create a special blog post to help you share the results of all your hard work.

I would like to introduce one of my favourite songs “Imagine” by John Lennon. Every time I hear this song, I feel touch in my heart. The belief in this song will never be obsolete as time goes by.

Actually, I love all the lyrics in this song, and I like to share part of it with you.

“Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace”

“Where is the love?” it’s one of my favourite songs. I like the song because it gives a message to everybody about not to kill each other. It’s also talking about respecting to each other. However,we are all living in one world, so why don’t we protect each other, and live in peace ?? I wonder.

Here are some of the song’s lyrics:

People killing people dying,
Children hurting you hear them crying.

As the youth die young,
so ask yourself is the loving really strong?

“What a beautiful jasmine flower!
A spray of fragment and lovely pedals,
Everyone loves your snow-white buds.
Let me pick a jasmine flower,
And give it to others.
Jasmine flower…”

“Jasmine Flower,” my favorite song, is one of Chinese folk songs.
This video shows the song being presented by Song Zuying at Vienna Gold Hall on April 18th, 2007. The song was arranged by Tan Dun and used in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games when Olympic Athletes entering the stadium for the medal presentation.

I like the flower for its “snow-white” buds and the song for its simple melody and clear meaning.

I would like to introduce my favourite song “I dreamed a dream” to everyone.
This video shows the song being presented by Susan Boyle at Britain talent competition in 2009.

“I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high, and life worth living;
I dreamed that love would never die,
I dreamed that God would be forgiving……”

The song inspires all of us. She has demonstrated that anything is possible, and never gives up your dream.

Merry Christmas for all of you, and I wish all your dreams come true during 2010.

“What a Wonderful World” is one of my favourite songs in English because it represents the dreamed world everyone wants for him/hers and their descendants. It means the simplicity of life in harmony and peace with others and nature. Louis Armstrong sings beautifully and touching feeling. This song makes people fly to an imaginary dimension and perfect state.

“The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you."

I would like to present a poem song sung by pass away famous Chinese artist Teresa Teng.

The lyrics is a 800-year-old poem written by a king who was defeated and become an ordinary people. All of his sorrows are presented in the lyrics.

The lyrics uses the scenery to descirbe his passion, such as the flowers in the spring, the full moon in the fall, the little terrace, and the wind, they are all sad memories to him.

The famous artist plus famous poet, make this perfect Chinese song.

The song, "Heal the World" from Michael Jackson, is one of my favorites. When I heard it first time many years ago, I thought this person was really a lovely guy; he must be an unsophisticated people. Before this song, I knew he was a superstar, and I knew his well-known moon walk. But I never imagined that he was such a caring person. Now, He has gone. All the fouls on him were cleared finally. He was still the person full of innocence and love. When I heard this song again, as if to see him dancing. I believe everybody will be moved by this song. Even now, it seems the song resounds in my ears.

"Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race"

“I will take care of you,” one of my favourite songs, is a very sweet song performed by Amy Sky. It’s a story of her family. Also this song expresses a powerful, selfless love. I was impressed by her beautiful voice and strong emotion of lyrics. I’d like to introduce this song to my class.

My favourite lyrics are:

“I will take care of you
The very best that I can
With all of the love here in my heart
And all of the strength in my hands
Your every joy I will share
For every tear I will be there my whole life through
I will take care of you”

I like this romantic son because the hero is asking the moon to explain his love to the girl. I like musical rhythm which is soft and smooth. Also that location is a historical place called Kutab Minar

My most favorite song(the singer was Daniel Boone)—although I never listen to any song after university -- is “Beautiful Sunday.” In the past, homework and parents’ pressure was as heavy as a bicycle picked up more than three passengers, and it made me relieved and escaped from stress temporarily when I listened to this song. Sometimes, it seemed be truth that the surrounding environment was faked and the song’s vision became real. The lyrics of the song gave me a dream world, and I hoped most people could enjoy that as me. Show some segment below:

Sunday morning, up with the lark
I think I'll take a walk in the park
hey hey hey, it’s a beautiful day . . .

“Helwa Ya Baladi” by Dalida

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNNYXBHoM1Y

This song is one of my favorite songs that I really enjoy listening to .I remember when I heard this song for the first time, I was in Africa for the first time in my life__ away from my country and my family. I couldn’t stop crying at that time. I love it for its beautiful rhythm, meaning and the angel voice of the singer. I love this song and I love Baladi. Wish everyone like it too.

The lyrics’ that I like the most in this song is when she says:

“One beautiful word and two beautiful words
You are beautiful, my country
One beautiful song and two beautiful songs
You are beautiful, my country
I always hoped to return to you, my country
And stay beside you always and forever.”

Sh-Boom by the Chords, is one of my favorites songs. The first time I heard this song was, while watching Cars the movie. I found the rhythm (the music) kind of sticky to my mind and once I fully understood what it said, I began to like it.

"Oh, life could be a dream (sh-boom)
If I could take you up in paradise up above (sh-boom)
If you would tell me I'm the only one that you love
Life could be a dream sweetheart
(Hello hello again, sh-boom and hopin' we'll meet again)"

One of my favourite songs is “Rain” which was new fourteen years ago .I heard it for first time when I came back of high school on a rainy day. It touched my feelings like a soft feather. Enchanting music and lyrics made it lovely, and I often listen to this song beside warm fire at rainy nights. .
“Mountains and drought are crying forme
Because you left me alone
My heart is whimpering, where is tomorrow
have a good trip my traveler
tonight is rainy
my heart is sad."
