Blogging Advice for the 2008 Spring Class

Blogging is Wonderful

I have seen a lot of blogs. Finnally, I can learn to make my own blog. Thanks to Brad.

It’s easy to learn, to use, and more fun to do it too.

Whiteboard is another interesting tool online. I like it.

Thanks to the classmate that posting so many good essays. I learn a lot from them too. Our
homeworks are no longer just for teacher only but for our classmate to share in the blogging
community.

Welcome “New Bloggers”. Welcome to a new adventure.
This blog has to serve to you to practice writing skills, exchange ideas, and by posting your assignments, to get to know each other better.
For me blogging was a new experience. I’ve never done it before and it didn’t hurt, so don’t worry. There’s what I experienced and what I would like to share with you about blogging:
1)The best:
-to see other students’ work (people have different point of view, different writing style (humour, critique,) different ideas. They were real examples for me. If they made mistakes, I learned from their mistakes. They were also teachers for me.)
2)The least:
- correcting student writing (for me, English is a second language and correcting someone’s work was not that simple. Not only because of the grammar errors, but also because of changing someone’s original writings. After this experience, you will admire your teacher! :))
3)My comments:
- this blog was created not for competition, but for cooperation
- treat each other with respect. Someone might be weaker in grammar or have a different point of view, so respect opposite ideas; help each other
- READ CAREFULY questions or someone’s response. Misunderstanding may lead you to wrong answer/comment; you may miss the point
- try to post your work on time. It’s not easy to be a “sample” all the time. Let others read your post before the class
- check and save your work in Word before posting. It’s faster and “safer”
- have fun, be creative, and GOOD LUCK for all of you!

Blog is really new for me, but it's really much fun. It's free, and so quick to exchange messages between classmates, such as essays and paragraphs.I enjoy it, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Welcome to the Blog "Fresh Blood"!
Brad will teach you how to use this blog, but I would like to give you some tips I've learned using the blog!
First, read an assingment carefully . I struggled a lot because of my impatience. I used to start writing right away and then discoverd that I didn't do exactly what Brad usked us to do!
Second, do and save your work in Microsoft Word and then paste it into the whiteboard. Because sometimes after long hours of writing you might find you comment dissapeared for the page has expired.
And last, but not least if you are not sure how to answer the question Brad gave you, wait for classmates' comments to be post and after careful observation write your own based on your feelings and experience.

We can not deny the fact that technology has made our lives easier. Blogging is one of new technologies that made communicating and exchanging of ideas much easier, so don’t be afraid to use it with confidence and without hesitation. Good luck guys.
